Description
Collector Grade, Beckett-witnessed autographed memorabilia—12 Official MLB baseballs signed by Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa with a “98 HR Chase” inscription; note: autographs show damage/imperfections. In 1998, McGwire broke the single-season home run record with 70 while Sosa hit 66 and captured the NL MVP, turning their duel into a national event. McGwire also won the 1987 AL Rookie of the Year, and Sosa remains the only player with three 60-HR seasons.
Collector's Highlights:
- Athletes: Mark McGwire & Sammy Sosa
- Item: 12x Official MLB Baseballs, dual-signed, with “98 HR Chase” inscription; condition note: signatures have damage/imperfections
- Authentication: Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) Witnessed Hologram—signatures observed in person by a Beckett rep
Backed by Beckett’s BAS Witness holograms, this verified authentic lot delivers a direct link to the 1998 home run chase and the legacies of two power-hitting icons. While the autographs show imperfections, the Beckett certification guarantees authenticity and supports long-term collectability for serious baseball memorabilia buyers.
