Joe Theismann Autographed Memorabilia

Joe Theismann was the starting quarterback for the Washington Redskins during one of the franchise's most successful eras. The 1983 NFL MVP led Washington to victory in Super Bowl XVII following the 1982 season, defeating the Miami Dolphins 27-17. Theismann threw for 15,942 yards and 101 touchdowns over his 12-year NFL career, all spent with the Redskins from 1974 to 1985.

Before his NFL career, Theismann was a standout at the University of Notre Dame, where he finished second in the 1970 Heisman Trophy voting. He first played professionally in the Canadian Football League with the Toronto Argonauts from 1971 to 1973 before joining Washington. During the Redskins' dominant 1983 season, Theismann threw for 3,714 yards and 29 touchdowns, earning both the NFL MVP award and a spot on the All-Pro team.

Theismann's career came to an abrupt end on November 18, 1985, in a nationally televised Monday Night Football game when he suffered a compound fracture of his right leg on a sack by Lawrence Taylor of the New York Giants. The injury remains one of the most well-known moments in NFL history. Since retirement, Theismann has built a successful career as a football broadcaster and analyst.
